Because Christmas is coming up I thought I would take a look at the kind of guitar that Santa Claus would play.
For those who celebrate Christmas – Merry Christmas and for those that don’t I hope you’ve got a good break lined up.
In my head Santa loves folk music. And in my head people from the far north love folk music.
So in my opinion Santa would own a guitar that’s great for playing folk.
Now Santa’s done pretty well for himself over the years. Whilst he doesn’t charge for presents, he has had a tonne of endorsements – not to mention the royalties every time someone uses his likeness!
So he’s got enough to get whatever he wants – but he doesn’t want to flash around his money (and he gives a lot to charities) so he wouldn’t go too flash.
Now one obvious question might be – wouldn’t Santa want to play Christmas carols on his guitar too?
I think he’d be pretty sick of Christmas carols so when he gets the chance to wind down and get out his guitar I think he’s taking that opportunity to strum out some earthy folk tunes.
Santa’s Physical Characteristics
By legend Santa’s a pretty big guy – so he wouldn’t want too small a guitar.
Because he’s playing folk he probably won’t want a dreadnought but probably wouldn’t go as small as a concert or parlour.
He’d probably want something like a grand auditorium shape.
So with all of that in mind, I think Santa would love (out of the Guitar’s I have reviewed so far) the Martin GCPA5K.
It’s got a nice warm tone (despite its Sitka Spruce top), is well suited to folk, it’s a grand auditorium shape and it’s a reasonably priced instrument – so people don’t think Santa has inappropriate amounts of money!
Thanks for Reading
I hope this post has taught you something about Santa’s music tastes 😉
If you have any other ideas on what music Santa would like or which guitar you think Santa should get it’d be awesome to hear other people’s take on this….
Thanks for visiting the website and I hope you have an awesome holiday season and a great year in 2016!
